New Lake Macquarie record for incredible waterfront acreage

A YOUNG rich lister has sold his Summerland Point acreage on Lake Macquarie for a new record price.

A LAKESIDE acreage at 175 Cams Blvd, Summerland Point recently sold the day before auction for a hefty $3.5 million, which was $500,000 above the price guide of $3 million. This is the highest sale for the sleepy lakeside suburb and The Property Market’s Gavin Schwebel said he had not seen a higher sale on Lake Macquarie.

“From the research I’ve done, there hasn’t been a higher residential for any Wyong shire lakefront,” Mr Schwebel said.

“The campaign attracted huge interest, with over 50 inspections. There is a high demand for quality waterfronts from local and Sydney buyers. Astute buyers understand they are not making more waterfront land and when you consider Lake Macquarie sits between Sydney and Newcastle it just makes sense as an investment in lifestyle.”

The property was owned by Sydney businessman Luke Mullins who the 2009 BRW Young Rich List of Australia’s wealthiest people under 40. Mr Mullins bought the house for a tree change in 2011 and orchestrated a complete rebuild that involved a team of builder on-site for six months. The outcome was a lakefront paradise.

With about 3.4ha of direct lake access, the property included a separate guesthouse, floodlit championship tennis court, pavilion, pool and motor cross track.

“The design features of the property were absolutely incredible,” Mr Schwebel said.
